Allergies
Allergies are hypersensitive reactions of the immune system to substances that are normally harmless to most people. These substances are called allergens.
Using BICOM bioresonance therapy, we can now test and treat allergies – painlessly, without drugs and without side effects.

In people with allergies, the immune system recognizes these substances as a threat. The immune system responds by producing antibodies (IgE). When exposed to the same allergen again, the immune system is activated, leading to an allergic reaction.
Histamine can cause an allergic reaction. Histamine is a substance that is present in both your body and your food. In your body, the substance does several things: it sends signals to your immune system and brain, it regulates your body temperature, and it stimulates your blood circulation and breathing. Histamine is also present in your food. You can distinguish between foods that literally contain histamine and foods that release histamine through fermentation and ripening.
Although histamine is a natural substance, the human body can only process a limited amount of it. The amount of histamine your body can process is different for everyone. The body cannot process large amounts of histamine well. If the histamine level in your body exceeds a certain point (the threshold), you may experience the following symptoms:
- Irritation of the skin, nose, throat and lungs
- Itching
- Redness
- Swelling
- Rash
- Coughing
- Mucus in the throat
- Sleep problems
Common sources of histamine include: strawberries, tomatoes, chocolate, pink fish, mussels and seafood, spinach, pork, spices, alcoholic beverages, preservatives and flavor enhancers, aged cheese, sauerkraut, red wine, salami and canned meat.
There are different types of allergies depending on the type of allergen and the reaction. Some common allergies are discussed below:
1. Respiratory allergies
These allergies are often caused by substances present in the air, such as:
1. Luchtwegallergieën
Deze allergieën worden vaak veroorzaakt door stoffen die in de lucht aanwezig zijn, zoals:
- Dust mites: Tiny organisms that live in dust and often cause allergies, especially in bedrooms.
- Pollen: Flowering plants can produce pollen that causes allergies, often leading to hay fever.
- Mold: Airborne mold spores can also cause allergic reactions.
2. Food allergies
These allergies occur when the immune system perceives a particular food as harmful. Common food allergies include:
- Nuts (e.g. peanuts, walnuts)
- Milk (especially for babies and young children)
- Eggs
- Fish and shellfish
- Wheat (celiac disease or gluten allergy)
3. Skin allergies
Skin allergies can be caused by contact with certain substances, such as:
- Poison ivy, or poison sumac: plants that cause a skin reaction.
- Cosmetics or cleaning products: these can cause irritation or allergic reactions.
- Insect bites: for example from bees or wasps, which can lead to local reactions or, more seriously, anaphylaxis.
4. Insect allergies
Some people are allergic to the venom of insects such as bees, wasps or ants. The allergic reaction can range from mild to severe (anaphylaxis) and requires immediate medical attention.
5. Drug allergies
Some medicines can cause allergic reactions, for example antibiotics (e.g. penicillin) or painkillers (e.g. aspirin).
Symptoms of allergies:
Symptoms of allergies can vary depending on the type of allergy and the severity of the reaction:
- Mild symptoms: Sneezing, itchy eyes, rash, stuffy nose, coughing, mild swelling.
- Severe reactions: Difficulty breathing, swelling of the lips, tongue or throat, dizziness, severe skin reactions.
- Anaphylaxis: A life-threatening allergic reaction that can quickly lead to shock, difficulty breathing and even death without immediate treatment (usually with an epinephrine injection).
Allergies can vary in severity and how they manifest. It is important to know what allergies you have so that you can respond appropriately to exposure to allergens.
